Restraint is a mod
The EK used to have everything on it. Now it has only what it needs. That was the hardest build decision I ever made.
Younger me bolted on every part I could afford and a few I could not. The car was loud, busy, and slower than it looked. It took me an embarrassingly long time to understand that addition is the easy half.
Taking things off is harder. Every part you remove is an admission that you were wrong to add it. But a sorted, simple car beats a complicated one in every measurable way, and most of the unmeasurable ones too.
The EK now wears almost nothing it does not use. It is the fastest it has ever been, and the calmest it has ever looked. Those two facts are related.
Restraint is a modification. It is just the only one that gets cheaper the more of it you do.
